  2. The challenge:-To offer a modern, world-class, flexible curriculum that personalises learning, inspires and challenges all learners, and prepares them for the future.Key Stage 3 Foundation years (Years 7 – 8 )Key Stage 4 (Years 9 – 12)Key Stage 5 (Years 10 – 13)

  4. Proposed 3 Year Model

  5. Awards 1. Functional Skills ICT Level 2 taken at end of Year 8 2. Approximately 65 students accelerated in English Language from end of Year 8, taking Functional Skills Level 2 at end of Year 9, English Language at end of Year 10 and English Literature and AS/IBDP tasters in Y11 3. Approximately 65 students on 2 year GCSE Maths course, with Functional Skills Level 2 at end of year 9, GCSE Maths at end of Year 10 and AS Decision Maths/ Statistics at end of Year 11. 4. Approximately 65 students reaching level 6 or better offered Triple Science with Core in Year 9, and individual Sciences in Y10 & 11. 5. Approximately 120 further students embark on Double award English, to be completed by Year 11. 6. Approximately 70 students embed their Key Stage 3, taking Functional Skills Level 1 at end of year 9 and reassessed KS3.

  6. Notes Continued • 7. Potential for a double option pool Diploma in due course or a one year BTEC with second BTEC in Y10 and a further one in Y11. • 8. Potential for a double pool ‘Alternative Curriculum’ programme • All embed KS3 Science in Y9, Core in Y10 and have potential to choose Applied or Additional Science in Y11. • KEY AIM:- To ensure that all students have an individual pathway, with appropriate targets and ‘qualifying grades’ from end of year 8 to the end of their time at the College
