  1. Continuum of care Committee Connecting and Sharing Information November 12, 2013

Continuum of Care • Housing Action Illinois and SHPA co-host the Continuum of Care Committee. • CSH, IHDA, DCEO and IACAA staff also participate, as well as members of every Continua around the state. • Only statewide forum for Continua. • The CoC Committee continues to maintain a “Google Group”. It has facilitated discussion and information sharing. If you are interested in joining this Group, let Lore Baker know.

  3. HEARTH ACT IMPLEMENTATION The Continuum of Care Committee continues to focus this year on HEARTH Act Implementation and ways to move the homeless system forward across Illinois.

  4. Continuum of care CommitteE Ad Hoc Committee on Homelessness formed: • to improve strategies for working toward ending homelessness • to coordinate efforts of State Departments, local Continua of Cares and other key stakeholders • to advance the cause of ending homelessness in Illinois • This group is working on creating cross trainings for the Homeless, Child Protection and Child Care systems. Google Group • SHPA continues to host the ongoing Google Group for CoCs • to advance the cause of ending homelessness in Illinois. • Place to share NOFA info once the NOFA is released. CABHI Grant • IDHS has been awarded a Cooperative Agreements to Benefit Homeless Individuals for States (CABHI-States) which SHPA and others will assist the state in developing a State Interagency Council on Homelessness. • Meetings have begun. Stay tuned.

  5. Continuum of care Committee • Meets on the Fourth Thursday of the Month at 10am via conference call. • Anyone who is involved with their local continuum of care is invited to attend and participate. • Simply fill out the Get On Board With SHPA form and return it to Lore Baker. • Google Group • If you wish to enroll in the Google Group. Indicate that on your Get On Board With SHPA form.
