Safety The woodshop can be a very dangerous place. To minimize the risk of accidents I will require all students to pass tool specific written safety tests. In addition, I will have a NO TOLERANCE policy with regard to behavior that I deem unsafe. Whether it is general horseplay, or an attitude I believe demonstrates a lack of safety awareness, I will not hesitate to pull the student out of the lab environment. Repeated or serious offenses will result in the student being removed from the class with a failing grade.
Emergency Procedures Every effort is made to run a clean and safe shop. However, any shop has the potential for injury. That is why safety rules, and appropriate shop behavior is expected at all times. In the event a serious injury occurs, students should IMMEDIATELY STOP WORKING and RETURN TO THEIR SEATS while the school nurse is notified, and the nature of the injury evaluated.
