  3. NURSES do even more! • Work OUTSIDE the hospital: • Public Health • Home Health/Hospice • Rural Medicine • Peace Corps • School Nurse • Flight Nurse (air evac) • Teaching • Military • Cruise Ships

  4. Nursing is for both MALE and FEMALE • Come from all racial/ethnic backgrounds • They relate to people of all backgrounds and cultures to promote health, prevent disease and save lives.

  5. Flexible Work Schedules • Work….. • Full-time or Part-time • Daily as special duty • 12 hr. shift = 3 days/week

  6. NURSES have job security • …….are in GREAT demand • …….earn good pay and benefits • …….”signing” bonuses

  7. Educational Choices • Community College….. • Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) • 2 years AFTER prerequisite science classes and General Ed requirements.

  8. University or College • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) • Approximately 4 years to complete • Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) • A “few” more years after a BSN
