  1. Emodnet Chemistry Lot Workflow for WP1: Data Collection and Metadata compilatation

WP1 objectives: • To gather all identified chemical datasets; • To convert all gathered data in ODV format and release a copy to the relevant Regional Leader; • To compile metadata in CDI format; • To check for duplicates at national level by the NODCs; • To send all CDI entries to Maris to populate CDI Data Discovery and Access Service (CDI linked to a local copy of ODV data); • The existing data inventory will be used as guidance list. It is important to highlight new inputs with respect to SDN. • Missing terms in the Vocabs (P01, P02) must be highlihted and discussed, to validate the new entries.

Regions definition: • The North Sea area (including North Sea, Norwegian Sea, Celtic Sea) • The Black Sea area • The Mediterranean Sea area (including Adriatic Sea, Ionian and Central Mediterranean Sea, Aegean-Levantine Sea, Western Mediterranean Sea) • The Baltic Sea area • The Atlantic Sea area (including Atlantic Coast, Macaronesia)

  4. WP1 workflow: • Expected outcomes: • Bimonthly concise progress report will be posted on the Maritime Forum indicating meetings held, difficulties encountered, inventories of data made available. • Role of the Regional Leaders: • To collect bimonthly updates of available data; • Role of Maris: • To check bimonthly updates of Chemistry CDI Data Discovery and Access Service; • Role of All participants: • To give access to metadata with CDI ; • To give access to linked data (ODV format) according to the data policy as agreed with the data ORIGINATOR for CDI; internally all data must be made available for the regional products development.

  5. WP1/WP2/WP3 workflow: • Suggested schedule: • First 6 month: focus on data gahering and metadata production according to priorities; • After month 6: (WP2) start with Products generation ( Diva interpolated Maps product and Time series plots); • After month 9: (WP3) first year Regional product validation • At month 12: 1st Expert workshop • Suggested priority for data collection: • Start with oxygen, fertilisers/nutrients,clorophyll-a, silicates and acidity in the water column starting from 1999; • Then heavy metals, hydrocarbon, pesticides and antifoulants in sediment and biota (mytilus sp) starting from 1999. • Then complete the water column starting from 1999;
