Who are IAMWS ? • IAMWS a Professional Body – not a Trade Association • IAMWS is based on individual membership not corporate membership and we intend to be inclusive versus exclusive to all MWS • IAMWS is open to all practicing Marine Warranty Surveyors who meet the eligibility criteria regardless of organizational affiliation. • Estimated size of membership for IAMWS • 800 plus globally IAMWS

Why do we need IAMWS and its origins - Based on the work of the Marine Warranty Surveyor Advisory Panel to the London Market Joint Rig Committee • Moving forward as IAMWS • Members of London Joint Rig Committee encouraged MWS companies to pursue accreditation of individual marine warranty surveyors. IAMWS
Why do we need IAMWS and its origins • The existing Marine Warranty Surveyor Advisory Panel agreed that our industry needed a technical forum where we could share ideas, lessons learned and improve our industry. IAMWS
Why do we need IAMWS and its origins • Benefits to Underwriters, Assureds, Brokers & Contractors • Recognize and differentiate a professional group of Marine Warranty Surveyors • Marine Warranty Surveyors will be subject to minimum standards and procedures • Also incorporate testingand continuing professional development requirements • Ethical Standards – benefit to all Stakeholders • IAMWS has bylaws and an International Board of Directors to work with the industry IAMWS
Why do we need IAMWS and its origins • Has a clear statement on ethics and promotes competition within the marine warranty survey industry. • Will be available for dialogue with Underwriters and other stakeholders in offshore development projects • Provides a forum for technical meetings including regular technical conferences. • Forum for the sharing and development of best practices across the industry IAMWS
What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • Certification will initially be focused towards MWS for Offshore Marine Oil & Gas Operations. • In general this relates to those operations generally listed in the Joint Rig Committee code of practice and generic work scope matrix. e.g. Jackets, Topsides, subsea etc. • Initially aimed at ensuring broad minimum competency standard for attending surveyors who issues the certificate of approval for these operations. - This is only part of the MWS picture – Technical Review, Risk Assessment, vessel surveys, . IAMWS
What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • Possible additional Certification and/or operation Endorsements to be developed; • Rig Move Attendance • Rig Location • Pipelay • Floatover • Dual Crane Lifts • Heavy Lift Transportation etc.. Endorsements may add value but great care would be required in their implementation. – who has the right experience to apply for the endorsement? And are they then the right individual to approve the operation? Dual Crane lift – DP Operations (DP specialist), Stability (Naval architect), Strength (Structural Engineer), Simultaneous Marine operations.(Master Mariner) IAMWS
What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • Route to Membership • Application with supporting Evidence (Form and Application criteria to be available on IAMWS website) • Application Sponsorship by a CMWS • Membership Panel Review of Application • Ethics Test • IAMWS Code of Conduct • JRC Code of Practice • Technical Test • Individual CMWS awarded • Continuing Professional Development requirements and review (e.g 2 years) IAMWS
What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • Application and testing process designed to check Specific Criterion are met in the following; • Education/Qualifications • Work Experience (O&G, Marine, MWS) • Technical Skills (IT, Occ Health etc) • Language Skills (communication and written skills) • Industry & MWS Knowledge Underpinning Finalization of Minimum criteria requirements is still on-going. IAMWS
What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • Technical Test Currently expected to be online, closed book at designated test locations. • Generic Module • Core Technical Skills. • JRC Generic Scope of Work • Technical Modules (Candidate will need to pick one specialist module) • Loadout • Transportation • Heavy Lift • Rig Move Attendance • Subsea/Pipelay Technical references will be ISO 19901-6 “Marine operations” and JRC GSOW. What are the specifics to the IAMWS and the way forward • When will IAMWS and the accreditation process begin and be completed? • Already approximately 45 IAMWS-CMWS members have been accepted and certified. • This consists of the Board of Directors and regional marine managers who will promote the accreditation process locally in their region. • The process has begun and is supported by underwriters. IAMWS
