Intro Please…............ I am going to be telling you about some of the animals in china. I am also going to be highlighting the endangered species, what is being done to help them, and how we can help them too.
Facts! Chinese Alligator The Chinese Alligators formal name is Alligator sinensis and they live in the lower yangste river in china. They eat snails, frogs, and slow swimming fish! Chinese tigers are quite shy creatures. We have successfully raised more than 60 young tigers in captivity, but they haven't been spotted in the wild for more than 25 years!
Endangered……? There are quite a few endangered species. Here are a few critically endangered species.. The giant panda: The Giant panda is 4 feet long -when adult. Surprisingly they have to eat 26 to 84 pounds of Bamboo each day! Panda babies are as big as a stick of butter and are a 1 /900th the size of their mother. The Panda is Endangered because Loss of habitat, bamboo supplies Because it takes so long to grow. Then people hunt for their fur. • The snow leopard: • The Snow leopard also lives in china. There are only about 4,800 all together. Also they can jump 6 times the length of their body, and their body is 2-5 foot in length! They live up in the mountains and are Endangered because their bones and blood create medicine, also because they get paid a lot of money to hunt the snow leopard.
What is being done to help them. This is what's being done to help the snow leopard, the Panda and a few others. The giant panda: To help the Panda we are opening 14 new Protection Reserves! Also we are opening several breeding centres!! Then we are planting more bamboo trees so they wont be as hungry! Snow leopard: To help the vunerable snow leopard we are letting more of their prey into the wild. Also we are buying cameras and monitors so we can keep a eye on these magnificent creatures!
