I. • The Immune System includes structures like, white blood cells, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, and lymph vessels.
A. White Blood Cells • 1. Leukocytes(WBC’s) • 2. Thrombocytes(platelets) • 3.Granulocytes(containing large granules in the cytoplasm) • 4. A Granulocytes(without granules) • 5. Lymphocytes(consisting of B cells and basophils)and monocytes.
B. Thymus • 1. The Thymus is a specialized organ of the Immune System.
C. Spleen • 1. The spleen functions as part of the Immune System and contributes to the production and storage of the Circulatory System.
D. Lymph Nodes • 1. Lymph nodes work like filters to remove germs that could get you sick.
E. Lymph Vessels • 1. Lymph vessels transport fatty acids and glycerol as well as excess tissue fluids.
II. • How specifically does the immune system work? 1.The Immune System defends the body from attack by invaders recurring.
III. • What is relationship of the Immune System and other body systems? 1.With circulatory system allows the immune cells to travel throughout the body and survey for infection.
IV. • What medical problems that can be associated with the body system? 1. Allergies, Asthma, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Murmurs and etc.
