  2. St Patrick’s day is the feast day of St. Patrick, which is celebrated on the 17th of March.

  3. St. Patrick’s Day was made an official feast day in the early seventeenth century, and has gradually became a celebration of Irish culture.

  4. St. Patrick’s day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Newfoundland and Labrador and Montserrat.

  5. St. Patrick’s Day is also celebrated in Britain, Canada, USA, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. Chicago River dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day

  6. Originally the colour associated with St. Patrick was blue, over the years the colour green grew and now the colour is green.

  7. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St. Patrick’s day as early as the seventeenth century.

  8. One of the main decorations is the green three leaf clover, this is a symbol for St. Patrick because often held it and used it.

  9. Celebration in Belfast • Belfast city centre becomes awash with colour and joy as the St. Patrick’s carnival takes to the streets.

  10. Community groups from all four corners of the city will join professional and amateur performers, musicians and acrobats in the annual St. Patrick’s Day carnival Parade.

  11. Celebrating in Brisbane Everyone is invited to come and have a look at the celebration. There are Irish Dancers, Gaelic Football men and some people dress up as famous Irish people.
