QUESTIONS • Which five state symbols or resources do you like best? • Out of these five, which is your favorite and why? • Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper.
MAKE YOUR FLAG • Design a flag that features your favorite Ohio resource. • You may use a state symbol or other Ohio resource. • Use the paper and markers provided.
EXPLAIN • On a separate sheet of paper, explain why you selected that particular resource for your flag. • Place your flag on the bulletin board.
VOTE • Choose the one resource that is the most important state natural resource. • Write it down on a small piece of paper and place it in the voting box.
TABULATE RESPONSES • Separate responses into categories • Create a table on the white board illustrating all of the responses • Determine the winning response
HOMEWORK • Ask each member of your family to choose their favorite Ohio natural resource • Complete the “Endangered and Threatened Ohio” activity sheet • Complete the “Ohio, The Buckeye State!” activity sheet
