  2. Birth • Malcolm Little(Malcolm X or El-Hajj MalikEl-Shabazz)was born on May 19th ,1925 in Omaha Nebraska to Louis Norton and Earl Little.

  3. Childhood • Malcolm had a rough childhood. In 1931 when Malcolm was a kid his father found dead. Due to his death several years later his mom had a emotional breakdown and was admitted a mental institution forcing Malcolm and his siblings had been split up among various foster homes.

  4. Life pt1 • Malcolm wanted to be a lawyer. But when one of his favorite teachers told him that “that was no realistic dream for a nigger” so he dropped out of school and became a conductor of narcotic prostitution and gambling rings.

  5. Life pt2 • In 1946 Malcolm was arrested and convicted with burglary charges. He was sentenced to seven years.

  6. Life pt 3 • In jail he continued his education .He started studying the Elijah Muhammad. This is where he became Muslim and changed his last name to “X”

  7. Life pt 4 • After he got out of jail he was appointed as a minster and national spokesmen for Islam. Malcolm utilized magazines and newspapers. This is where controversy started.

  8. Civil Rights pt 1 • Malcolm's faith was dealt a crushing blow at the height of the civil rights movement in 1963

  9. Assassination • Malcolm was attempted to be killed many times. Once someone had placed a bomb in his car and firebombed his house. But on February 21,1965 at a speaking engagement in the Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom three gunmen csme to Malcolm while he was onstage and shot him 15 times at close range. Malcolm was pronounced dead at his arrival to the hospital

  10. Funeral • Fifteen hundred people attended Malcolm's funeral in Harlem at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ on February 27, 1965. After the ceremony, friends took the shovels from the gravediggers and buried Malcolm themselves. Later that year, Betty gave birth to their twin daughters. Malcolm X is buried at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York.
