  2. Lieutenant Governor Duties Daily/Weekly Duties 1. Attend home key club meetings • Each week, your home club should be holding a club meeting for which you should attend. 2. Check your email • Communication system between you and your division, district board, district committee, regional advisor and administrators 3. Communicate with your division through your division reflector • Reminders about upcoming events/deadlines • News from CNH: CTC, applications, scholarships

Communicate with your Region Team • Planning regional meetings • Planning regional events: RTC • Arranging transportation to: Board meetings, CTC, etc. 5. Communicate with club presidents • Checking up on how their club is doing • Making sure dues are paid on time 6. Communicate with your executive assistants • Asking for assistance

  4. Lieutenant Governor Duties Monthly Duties 1. Communication • Talk and collaborate with your Region Advisor Team electronically, phone, or in person twice every month! • Make sure to keep in constant contact with ALL of your clubs in your division and help them in any way possible! • Talk to your Kiwanis! Update them about what’s going on in your division and invite them to your events or learn of service opportunities with your Kiwanis • Communication within your divisions is KEY to your division and your own success!

Paperwork Submissions • Work submissions are due by the 10th of every month BEFORE 6 PM. • This includes: Divisional Newsletter, Regional Newsletter Insert, Monthly Report Form (MRF), DCM Agendas, and any TCRs (Officer Training Conference reports) or Club Visitation Forms • Work submissions can be submitted early!

Publish at least 10 Divisional Newsletters • submitted with divisional monthly submissions • include upcoming events, contact info, important information 5. Contribute to Regional Newsletters • Complied by your entire Region • Also includes upcoming events, important information and contact info

Events and Attendance • You are required to hold at least 8 Divisional Council Meetings (DCM) during your term • Try to plan out at least one divisional event every month • Attend Kiwanis meetings and DCMs • Attend events! You must perform at least 50 hours of service!

  8. Lieutenant Governor Duties Annual Duties 1. Earn at least 50 hours of community service by DCON2011 2. Hold a conclave for LTG elections • at least two delegates per club • follow election policies • during January-February 2011 3. Attend all District Board Meetings • May Board Training, May 28-30, 2010; Kiwanis Professional Center • Summer Board Meeting, August 6-8, 2010; Kiwanis Professional Center • Winter Board Meeting, January 7-9, 2011; Santa Maria Inn • District Convention, April 14-17, 2011; Anaheim Convention Center

  9. Lieutenant Governor Duties Annual Duties 4. Hold Officers Training Conference (OTC) • Train officers for new term • Can be divisional or regional • Between July-August 2010 5. Hold Regional Training Conference (RTC) • Work with your region team • Between August- October 2010 • Need at least one Executive Board present at RTC

Committee Work • Each LTG is assigned to a committee • Includes monthly meetings, these meetings can be in person, in a group phone call, over instant messaging, etc. • In each committee individuals are able to take on roles as chairs of certain tasks • Can be secretary • Club liaison

  13. Lieutenant Governor Duties Highly Recommended Tasks 1. Divisional Events – Bonding your division • Divisional events help bring your division together. • Members love divisional events because they get to meet new people from other schools! • Examples: Kiwanis Special Games, Ice Skating Socials, Rose Floats Decorating, or you can host your own!

Committee Work and Leadership Roles • During your term on District Board, you will be assigned to a committee, which helps all parts of CNH to run smoothly. • It is highly advisable to: • volunteer to lead the committee • or chair sub-committees.

  17. 2010-2011 Board Agreement As a Key Club Lieutenant Governor candidate, understand some of the mandated requirements of the office are as follows: • To be a Key Club member in good standing and perform AT LEAST 50 hours of service • To be a liaison to and representative of each club in your division • To prepare and submit a directory, budget, and monthly reports ON TIME • To publish AT LEAST TEN monthly newsletters • To hold AT LEAST EIGHT division council meetings (DCMs) • To organize and conduct officer training, a region training conference (RTC), and a division conclave during term • To encourage ON TIME dues payment by each club in your division • To diligently participate in assigned district committee • To actively promote the Kiwanis Family organization and the Key Club core values • To communicate with my Regional Advisor AT LEAST TWICE each month • To attend the following MANDATORY board meetings and conventions: o Key Club District Convention: April 8-11, 2010; Sacramento Convention Center o May Board Training: May 28-30, 2010; Kiwanis Professional Center, Ranch Cucamonga, CA o Summer Board Training: August 6-8, 2010; Kiwanis Professional Center, Ranch Cucamonga, CA o Winter Board Training: January 7-9, 2011; Santa Maria Inn, Santa Maria, CA o Key Club District Convention: April 14-17,2011; Anaheim convention Center
