  13. What is a CHC/FQHC • Independent 501c(3) Organization • Focus on Mission of Service to the Underserved • Required to be located in an officially designated Medically Underserved Area (MUA) • Required to have a Board of Directors made up of at least 50% community members

What is a CHC/FQHC • Recipient of Federal Grant (10% of total budget) accompanied by a large amount of federal regulations • Allows us to provide services on a sliding fee scale for those without insurance • Provide an economic engine to local neighborhoods • Community Health – Programs and outreach focused on the community
