  1. Pollution Why is pollution everywhere in the world?

  2. What Causes Water Pollution? • Radioactive waste • 40% of surveyed lakes, rivers, and streams were polluted • There are substances being poured into rivers • Most pollution in water can harm the aquatic animals http://home.deds.nl/~jamedia/The_last_drop/Water_Pollution.html

  3. Why Plastic Pollution is Everywhere? • Plastic is just thrown into the ocean • As much as 14 billion tons of trash • Plastic bags kill 1 million sea animals a year(some of those animals are endangered) • 80% of plastic bags in the world are not recycled(almost all end up being littered) • Americans only recycle 1 or 2 percent of 10.5 million tons of trash http://www.planetvarner.com/green/plastic-pollution-is-everywhere/

  4. How Pollution Can Harm Us • About 15 thousand people in the world die each year because of unclean water • Smog is the worst form of air pollution which occurs in big populace cities Ex: New York City • Long term exposure to air pollution can cause heart and lung damage • Indoor pollution causes more deaths than outdoor pollution • Air pollution can add to ground and water pollution http://pollutionarticles.blogspot.com/2011/03/pollution-facts.html

  5. Different Types of Pollution • Air Pollution is gas chemical or particle emissions(like nuclear power plants) • Water pollution is dumping in water of chemicals or waste(mostly factories do this) • Land pollution is any dumping on land(such as land fills) • Man made products that are toxic are being put into the environment http://cwpe.org/node/138

  6. Being Aware of Pollution • Man must be involved to create air pollution • Pollution is a worldwide problem that needs to be solved • We must be alerted to know that each person on this planet affects each other every time they pollute • Greenhouse gases trap the air of the earth and make it warmer http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~cy34/#landpollution

  7. How Much Death Pollution Causes • 2 million or more children die each year from pollution • One third of the world’s diseases come from pollution http://socialistworker.org/2002-1/407/407_02_PollutionKills.shtml
