Food Engineering - Higher Diploma at • Faculté d’Ingénierie biologique, agronomique et environnementale • Université Catholique de Louvain - Belgique • Web page: www.agro.ucl.ac.be e-mail: meurens@bnut.ucl.ac.be The Faculty of Biological, Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (AGRO) of Louvain University is loca ted in Louvain-la-Neuve, a new 25000 inhabitant town specially conceived for 10 faculties inside an area of 100000 m2 to the south of Brussels. OBJECTIVES: - Prepare Skilled engineers to support the food industry, able to act in different areas like: . Production . Quality Control and Quality Management . Development of New Products and Processes . Research and Development . Distribution and Marketing . Industry Management . Consulting and Education The graduates work: 25% in Research and Development 75% in Food Industry - Establish the connection between the academic, scientific and industrial realities A five year higher diploma, after 12 undergraduate study years. The disciplines are grouped in 6 main topics: 85% Compulsory 15 % Optional distributed as: P Chem. Sciences Seminars Seminars Chem. Sciences Opportunities to go abroad: - 1 semester in the 5th year (compulsory) - financed by different programmes: Socrates / Erasmus, Leonardo, Tempus, Industry Date: June 2001
