  2. Judge Patrick Burns is well-known in Auburn, WA for his impartial judgements. Before becoming a successful judge, he was a lawyer for many years. Some of the things that contributed towards his success include his dedication, commitment, and focus. Besides, his constant involvement in judicial and legal activities also helped him make a mark for himself.

For twenty years (from 1978 to 1998), he ran a private practice and successfully fought a number of cases for his clients. During this period, he mostly handled cases pertaining to criminal defence, civil litigation, and family law. His hard work of almost two decades paid off when in 1998 he got elected as a Presiding Judge in the Auburn Municipal Court. He worked on this full time elective position for fourteen years and in 2012 became the Pro-Tem Judicial Officer in the Kent and Kirkland Municipal Courts.
