RR-TAG Update So Far This Week Presentation of The Wi-Fi Alliance DFS Best Practices document Presentation on EU 5GHz Regulatory changes Presentation on aircraft use of wireless networks Review of IMT inputs received so far To Be Done Receiving additional IMT inputs Incorporation of these into the requirements and evaluation document *The TCAM (Telecommunications Conformity Assessment and Market Surveillance Committee) is the standing Committee assisting the Commission in the management of Directive 99/5/EC.

EU 5GHz Regulatory Changes !!! • Any 5GHz RLAN products sold in the EU • After 3/31/08 must meet EN 301 893 v1.3.1 or 1.4.1 requirements • After 6/30/08 must be able to detect staggered PRF (3 PRF values) in 5600 - 5650 MHz band; or block the band (channels 120, 124 and 128) • After 3/31/09 must also meet EN 301 893 v1.5.1 requirements: • Detect 0.8uS pulse width across 5250 – 5350 and 5470 – 5725 MHz bands • Detect staggered PRF across 5250 – 5350 and 5470 – 5725 MHz bands • Include a solution for weather radar noise calibration period (10 min CAC) • After 3/31/10 must meet EN 301 893 v1.6.1 • All the 1.5.1 requirements • Detect 0.5uS pulse width across 5250 – 5350 and 5470 – 5725 MHz bands
