Title at the top of a new page – skip a page between labs • Question: Write out the question for the lab • I. Hypothesis: Your hypothesis in a complete sentence • II. Materials: Numbered & listed out • III. Procedure: Numbered & listed out with clear and detailed information (directions) • IV. Results: • Data: data tables and observations
V. Discussion/Conclusion: • Analysis and discussion of results and your conclusion are done here. Write this in paragraph format. • Guiding questions that might help: • Why did we do this experiment? How did this help illustrate the theories & that we discussed in class? • Restate hypothesis & whether it was supported or not. • Discuss results/findings • What possible explanations can you offer for your findings? • Where there any errors in the your lab? • What could have been done to improve this lab? • What further studies could be done related to this?
Remember not to use personal pronouns • It’s a good idea to list your IV, DV and controls • Use complete sentences throughout the write-up except in the materials section • Identify & label all drawings and graphs • Label Each section • Skip 2 lines between sections • Spread out and don’t be afraid to use the space – don’t try to squish too much on one page
