  2. Important Information about writing a laboratory report! • When writing a laboratory report you should always use black or blue ink- never erase anything. If you make a mistake, you can simply put a strike-through across a word, sentence, or paragraph that you do not want.

  4. Purpose/Problem • Complete sentence • Appropriate punctuation • Clear

  5. Introduction • Introduce topic • Define terms • State hypothesis

  6. Materials • Listed in columns

  7. Procedures • Numbered • Complete sentences • Short, direct, one-step procedures

  8. Results/Analysis • Data tables • Graphs • Calculations

  9. Discussion • Interpretation of data, graphs, results, and analysis • State findings and relate to introduction • Support findings with data, graphs, and/or analysis

  10. Conclusion • The object of the experiment • The results of the experiment • The percentage error (where applicable) • The sources of error in the experiment • Methods for reducing the error • Methods for improving the experiment
