CEOS Leadership of GEO Tasks • CEOS requested to lead / co-lead 13 GEO Tasks (or sub-Tasks) in new GEO 2009-2011 WP v 3. • In addition CEOS will contribute to 48 Tasks / sub-Tasks. • 13 CEOS POCs to be designated (after GEO-V Plenary) • CEOS POCs to generate the detailed GEO Task Sheets for the 13 Tasks and sub-Tasks. (Q4 2008) • In cooperation with other Tasks / sub-Tasks co-Leads and in coordination with the relevant GEO Secretariat experts.

CEOS, CGMS and WMO Coordination & Support to GEO • GCOS: • 1st priority CEOS “GCOS” Actions to be completed and 10 new 2nd priority Actions to be started. • Close coordination with GCOS to be continued. • Participation to WMO R/SSC-CM initiative: identify potential CEOS contribution to pilot projects (5 in total) • WCRP: increase coordination (attend JSC meeting (Apr. 09), assess new work plan end of 2009) • WMO: contribute to the “GOS Vision for 2025”. Increase coordination with WMO. • CEOS, CGMS, WMO Space Meeting(Monday Nov. 10)

Revision of the GEOSS 10-YearPlan Targets • 2007:first rigorous analysis of the GEOSS 10 Year Plan Targets from the space side (JAXA) • inconsistencies and flaws detected. • May 2008:revision of the GEOSS Targets, initiated • CEOS Agencies (CONAE, ESA, JAXA and NOAA) participation in GEO Target Task Team (T3). • On-going activity to be completed in the first half of 2009. • 2009: CEOS should study its long-term planning in response to the revised GEOSS IP Targets

  7. CEOS Resources Registration in GEOSS • 35 CEOS components (out of 130) & 38 services (out of 113)(as of Oct. 23, 2008) can do better • Incl. 18 previously entered in 2007 by other CEOS agencies, • All CEOS Agencies to register their main resources to support GEO
