My Family I met my husband Tanner at the University of Arizona. We have been married for 6 years. He is from Rockford, while I grew up in San Jose, California.

It is very important that your child arrives every day on time. • If your child is sick, please be sure to call the office to let Rhonda know. • If child is throwing up, he or she may not return to school until they have been free of flu symptoms for 24 hours
Students receive a stamp in their student planner if they have completed their homework along with a signature from parents.
RPS 205 uses the common core rubric of 4, 3, 2, 1, this does NOT correspond to A, B, C, D, F.
In third grade, we read a variety of literature . We stress the importance of reading fiction and non-fiction texts. Third grade students should read 20 minutes every night.
During Daily 5, students will write everyday. They will write narrative, informative, opinion, and explanatory pieces throughout the school year.
In third grade, students will master common core math standards • Operations and Algebraeic Thinking • Number and Operations in Base Ten (place value) • Measurement and Data (time, perimeter, area, volume, & graphs) • Geometry (2D & 3D shapes) • Numbers and Operations (Fractions)
In third grade we will learn about… • the water cycle • States of matter • animal classification (mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and insects) • Simple machines • Health and nutrition • Science and technology
In third grade we learn about…. • types of communities (urban, suburban, rural) • Native Americans • economics • local Rockford history • Government • United States geography
Permission Slips will go home a few weeks before each field trip • Included will be what students need to bring on field trip, appropriate attire, and the fee for each student
Sign up sheets to volunteer for class parties will be located on the table in front of the classroom • This school year, our class will celebrate Halloween, Winter, and Valentine’s Day
Students get so hungry during our long morning. We have the last lunch (noon). Any donations would be appreciated. Some favorites are; • Raisins • Goldfish • Cheeze its • Yogurt squeezers • Granola bars • Pretzels • String cheese
Specials (Art, Music, and P.E) operate on an A, B,C schedule. That means that if there is no school on Monday, and the previous Friday was a “B” day, the next Tuesday will be a “C” day. This is to ensure students receive teaching time in all special equally.
