How Day of Service Works • Site-specific packets for groups • Briefing • Defining the purpose • Perform the service • Recap • Process the purpose
Infrastructure • Collaborative Effort • Projects designed by The Community Center • Community Center Staff supervise sites • Each leader is given cell numbers for coordinators in site packets • Each hosting agency provides at least one staff supervisor
Preparing the Sites • Contacting potential sites • Evaluating potential sites • Getting commitment from sites • Risk management • Release Agreements
Examples of Projects • Food drives for the AIDS Support Network • Trash cleanup at several County Parks • Warehouse work for the local Food Bank • Site improvements at Woods Humane Society • Cleanup at two local Homeless Shelters • Site renovations for the County Historical Society
Preparing the Leaders • Orientation Leader Training • TEAM Day of Service (for trainers) • LIT Day of Service (for Leaders-in-Training) • Recruiting Orientation Leaders • Organizing the groups • Develop and distribute site packets
