  3. Unitat 5. Filemó i Baucis FILEMÓ I BAUCIS • Zeus i Hermes baixen a la terra disfressats per comprovar la hospitalitat dels mortals. Després que moltes cases no els volguessin acollir, arriben a una cabana habitada pels ancians Filemó i Baucis. • Ells els acullen, els ofereixen un llit, i preparen menjar i beure per als hostes. • Zeus i Hermes mostren la seva cara real per agrair-los la seva hospitalitat. També els diuen que els seus veïns seran castigats. • Tots quatre pugen a un cim i veuen com la zona queda coberta d‘aigua, menys la casa dels ancians, que es converteix en un temple d’or i marbre. • Zeus, a més, els concedeix un desig, que és el de ser guardians del temple i morir al mateix temps. Quan moren, un es transforma en roure i l’altre en un til·ler.
