Project Objectives Take the master class, “TV Production from A to Z”, given by the professional TV host; Compose raw footage of a TV program in a professional studio; Visit the First National Channel Television Museum.
TV Production from A to Z TV host and journalist VolodymyrHolosnyak will explain in a simple and engaging way the mysterious process of television program production.
The tour will take students through the studio facilities: production, editing, graphic design, and make up room. Students will see the whole program production in action. production-control room with a video monitor wall and professional audio mixing console. Students will witness all stages in the news development process, as news travels from journalist and cameraman to the TV screen.
Students will themselves become documentary/commercial narrators. They will get beginner’s tips on voice over, and record their own demo, listen to it and use special sound effects. Audio Room Voice over Dubbing
The studio floor is the actual stage where the TV program “Business World” is recorded with decoration, professional video camera, microphones, stage lighting and controlling equipment. Studio Floor
Real Studio Activities On the studio floor students will have a television crew help them produce genuine raw footage. Students will get to select from the multiple digital stage setups, according to the theme of their program. They will have the choice of being a news anchor or a weather forecaster, reading text from the teleprompter. Some may want to try their on-screen talent as talk show host or guest.
Students interested in the technical part of TV production can take an operator job and be coached by a professional cameraman. They will get to see funny TV tricks and special effects. Students will have all their questions answered: Why is the backgroundgreen? What shouldn’t you wear on TV? Why is make-up needed? What is the right speed to talk? What body language do you use during filming? Filming
All the recorded material will be saved and given to students on CD. Prior to the trip, students will have to e-mail to the TV channel the text they plan to read on the teleprompter. Now you are a TV Star!
Television Museum The only TV museum in Ukraine has an amazing collection of the oldest TV equipment: cameras, microphones and film. The museum guide will tell the story of First National Channel with pictures and interesting artifacts.
The field trip is organized and managed by First National Channel as a non-commercial event and all the charges will be used to cover staff working hours.
