  2. Patient Signalment • Case number: 0438 • ID:Navron • Species: Equine • Breed: Thoroughbred • Age: Adult • Sex: Gelding • Purpose:Leisure riding • Management: Stable

  3. History • Keeper was on holiday for 3 days • Noticed ulcerative lesions at the perianal region after come back to work

  4. Physical Examination • TPR within normal range • Good temperament • Ulcerative lesion at the dorsal region of the anus

  5. Treatment • The wound was flushed with diluted hydrogen peroxide 3% followed by diluted hibiscrub. • Maggots were removed from the wound during wound cleaning. • Topical ointments with Ilium dermapred and nagasunt powder.

  6. Client Education • Wound cleaning everyday • Monitor wound everyday. • Fly control
