Point of Sales Database • Status • Completely functional • Working database currently being tested by Habitat • Bar-coding systems being researched • Timeline • Week 7-Contact Habitat and answer any questions they may have; Begin review and design of bar-coding system utilizing VB • Week 8-Update database to meet new requests • Week 9-Setup revised database in retail store
Volunteer Tutorials • Purpose • Provide fast, effective training for those involved in the construction process • Video tutorials target college students with high speed internet access • Status • 16 text tutorials are currently accessible on web • Drywall video is recorded • Waiting for integration of digital video to compliment tutorials
Volunteer Tutorials • Timeline • Week 8-Continue research on how to present video in most effective manner • Visit habitat worksite during Blitz build to take more video • Week 9-Integrate video with current website
Setback Thermostat • Purpose • Lower energy usage of the house by implementing temperature control thermostats • Status • Names and address of homeowners known • Thermostat tutorial modified and complete • Presentation to homeowner planned • Timeline • Week 8 – Meet with the homeowners and present to them the benefits of properly using the thermostat
Set-Back Thermostat • Programmable thermostats can lower energy use in home • Modeled in Energy-10 software package
Solar Powered Attic Fan • Purpose • To provide cost effective and low maintenance solution to having low air circulation in a habitat for humanity home • Status • Found and came up with fixes for design flaws on the previous solar powered attic fan • Designed a new solar powered attic fan • Ordered parts to construct a new fan • Timeline • Week 10 – Finish construction of the new solar powered attic fan • Week 11 – Finish analysis of the attic fan using Energy 10
Energy 10 Analysis • Purpose • Model the attic fan in Energy 10 software to obtain energy savings information • Status • Software installed on some computers • Timeline • Week 11-Data will be generated for the attic fan
