  2. TEST BEAM Seems an obvious case: around H8 magnet test WC, LArg and TASD prototypes with the MIND prototype as muon catcher/spectrometer -- TASD (and LArg?) in magnetic field? Already some money from AIDA for some basics action: draft proposal by end of november 2010 submission end of year closure of CERN beams in 2012 forces us to recast program 2010 write proposal to CERN for use of test beam before Xmas 2011-Q1 kick off meeting 2011-Q3 first test with baby-INO but need muons of 1-2 GeV… 2012 construction and cosmic tests of TASD and MIND detectors 2013 fuller tests in NH Alain Blondel 28 September 2010 NEU2012 -- discussion

  5. Study of ‘big beam’ pro: concrete proposal that has some chance on a long time scale Con 1. The CERN SPC report clearly points to competition from Japan and US con2: is this not in the way of a bigger picture? Is it obvious that 100 kton of LArg can be made so much sooner than a neutrino factory? Synergy with neutrino factory (in case of 2300 km beam line) of beta-beam (for the short baselines) is important. Technical accelerator R&D There are very good synergies between CLIC and Neutrino Factory In particular field emission by RF cavities in intense electric and magnetic field (MOU with Fermilab on collaboration on this subject) Could the NA test be a beginning of this?
