Lake Stevens High School Graduation Requirements: 23.5 credits required to graduate 1 class for 1 full year = 1 credit Possible to earn 6 credits per year College Entry Requirements are more specific – look into each college Pass Washington State History requirement to earn diploma and to get into Washington Colleges (8th Grade)
Break Down of Credits • 4.0 Language Arts • 3.0 Social Studies • 3.0 Mathematics • 1.5 Physical Education • .5 Health • 1.5 Occupational (Must include .5 in Computer • Applications, Drafting, Digital Design, or • Journalism) • Technological Literacy • 2.0 Science • 1.0 Fine Arts • 7.0 Electives • 23.5 Credits
Additional Graduation Requirements • 0.5 credits of Occ. Ed must be Technology • Literacy: Comp. Apps, Dig. Design or Drafting • Complete a 13th Year Plan – 9th thru 12th Gr. • Successfully complete a Culminating • Exhibition (CE) as part of Viking Experience • during 12th Grade (archives too) • Meet Standard on State Assessments –ELA (English, • Language Arts), EOC in Algebra or Geometry and • Biology. • 45 Community Service Hours (10th-12th grade – • starts in the summer after 9th grade)

Registration Process Counselors will meet with 8th grade students Monday, 3/17 during their History classes. Students will receive Registration Forms and Course information at that time. These materials will be brought home on 3/17. Great opportunity to clean out the backpack. On-line registration Thursday, 3/20 during History classes. Students can do at home as well. Possible elective options……….
Manufacturing Tech: Use state of the art tools and materials to design build and create a variety of projects. Introduction to Engineering Design: While using 3D modeling software students are exposed to the design process, research and analysis, and Engineering standards. Principles of Engineering: A pre-Engineering course that combines technology, fundamental engineering, building and computer programing. Engineering and Manufacturing Elective Options
PRE-AP WORLD HISTORY Is modern world history truly a history of human progress? Where have we been? Where are we headed? *Prepare for AP EURO *Read books that grow bigger brains *Write complex analysis *Seminar with students whose opinions differ from your own *Possibly block Pre-AP English and Pre-AP World History CHANGE THE WORLD!

NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY Are you always earning excellent grades? If so, you should consider becoming a member of Cavelero’s National Junior Honor Society! Interested candidates wanting to become members of Cavelero’s National Junior Honor Society must meet eligibility requirements. Candidates are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better in addition to completing 4 hours of community service by May 24, 2014.
