Points to ponder What kind of characteristics does Greek architecture seem to have? Looking back at the temples, which seem to have Doric columns? Find five famous buildings ( buildings that I would know) that have been influenced by Greek architicecture. ( You may use the web)
Vases and Statues • Directions: Study the art work looking for similarities in the art work. Keep in mind that some of the statues have been modified to cover or hide some nudity.
Points to ponder • What characteristics does Greek art seem to have? • Is there a theme to their art? (Example nature, religion, animals) • Are the statues realistic looking? Why do you think they are all so muscular? • Why do you think the Greeks didn’t use more color on their vases? • What was your favorite piece of art? Why do you like that one? • Overall do you like Greek art? Why or why not?
