Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

  5. I. Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me. Ex. 20:3 First in number and importance Apply Today Eph.4:6 “One God” 1 Cor. 8:6 “there is but one God,” He is the God of All men

  8. IV. Remember the Sabbath Day To Keep It Holy – Ex. 20:8 Between God and the Jews – 7th day NO ! Apply Today ? Col. 2:14-17 – taken away Worship on 1st day of Week Rev. 1:10 = “Lord’s Day” Acts 2 – Acts 20:7 – 1 Cor.16:1-2

  10. VI. Thou Shalt Not Kill Ex. 20:13 Human Life is Sacred Apply Today Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not kill” Gal. 5:19-21 - Murderers Matt. 5:21-22 – forbids the cause Hate

  11. VII. Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery – Ex. 20:14 Marriage is protected Apply Today Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not commit adultery” Heb. 13:4 “Marriage is honorable” Gal. 5:19-21 “adultery, fornication”

  12. VIII. Thou shalt Not Steal – Ex.20:15 To protect property Apply Today Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not steal” Rom. 12:17b “provide things honest” 1 Cor. 6:9-10 “thieves”

  13. IX. Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness - Ex. 20:16 To Protect a person’s good name Apply Today Rom. 13:9 “thou shalt not bear false witness” Col. 3:9 “Lie not one to another,” Rev. 21:8 “liars”

  14. X. Thou Shalt not Covet Ex. 20:17 Protect individual Apply Today Rom. 13:9 Luke 12:15

  15. The Ten Commandments Exodus 20:1-17 Have been taken Away We are not bound by them

  16. The Ten Commandments 9 are repeated in the New Testament We keep these 9 because they are part of the New Testament, Not because they are in the original Ten Commandments.
