High School Graduation Requirements • 220 total credits • 6 semesters of composite satisfactory or excellent citizenship • English - 40 credits • Social Science -30 credits • Math - 20 credits • Physical Ed. - 20 credits • Science - 20 credits • Fine Art or Foreign Language - 10 credits • Health - 5 credits • Electives - 75 credits
Knowing the A-G List To meet the A-G College-Preparatory Requirements, you must complete each of these with a “C” or better:
Course Selection • Choose a challenging, but realistic program • Consider your student’s academic background, learning style, maturity, and study habits • Assist your student in making a smooth transition to high school
Choosing Courses • Students will choose 6 classes: • 1. English • 2. Mathematics • 3. Health (taken with Intro to Media or World Geography) • 4. Science • 5. Physical Ed (PE 9, Beg Dance, PE Band, Athletics, Drill Team, Pep Squad) • 6. Elective (World Language, Career Tech, Fine Art)
Honors and AP Courses • Choose honors and AP courses carefully • Courses are rigorous • AP courses are equivalent to college-level courses • All honors/AP courses are a full year commitment • Students will need to have the blue Honors/AP Commitment Form signed by a parent in order to sign up for any Honors/AP courses

Athletics • SHS Athletic Director- Kevin VanWaardenburg • Summer athletics applications will be delivered to the middle schools in late March/early April • Summer athletics registration- May 18th and 19th, 6-7 pm • First day of summer athletics- June 27th
Process and Procedures for Programming • Please return the yellow course selection sheet and the blue Honors/AP Form (if applicable) with parent signaturesto your middle school • Calle Mayor- return to your school office no later than April 18th • Richardson- return to your school office no later than April 18th
Programming Dates for Fall 2016 • Calle Mayor M.S. April 25th • Richardson M.S. April 28th • Private Schools* By Appointment (after May 2nd) *Private school students must enroll first at the TUSD Family Welcome Center
Bluegrass • April 15th at SHS • Students will arrive with their middle schools • Campus tour and presentations • Club Day food
