At normal (fully operational) network configuration, the electricity transmission network is in a technical state to implement the transmission of the planned electricity quantities, in order to supply the consumers in the country, as well as to carry out the export and the transit towards the neighboring countries. The operational voltages can be controlled within the admissible limits by the available technical means. State of the electricity transmission network 7
There are difficulties in carrying out the maintenance program for the electricity transmission network, due to the following reasons: Increased loading of the TPPs at the Maritsa Basin, due to the decommissioning of Units 1-4 of Kozloduy NPP and Units 1-6 of Varna TPP; Lack of around-the-clock industrial load; Displacement of the household load towards the big cities; Significant seasonal increase of the loads in the resorts; Relocation of the RES generation towards the inland; Increased transit and loop flows of electricity through the Bulgarian electricity transmission network.
