  3. History – First Decade (1976-1985) • 1976 – Jim Truchard’s Garage • GPIB for PDP-11 was first • 1981 - $1M in Revenue • 1985 IBM Quality Award • 2 of 3 founders are still active • “Dr T” - President / CEO • Jeff Kodosky – Father of LabVIEW

History – Second Decade (1986-1995) • LabVIEW 1.0 premiers in 1986 on a Mac • LabWindows 1.0 premiers in 1987 on DOS • NI starts making measurement H/W – DAQ in 1987 • Early 90’s – VXI takes off • Launched www.natinst.com and went Public (NATI) in 1995 • LabWindows/CVI available of MS Win • LabVIEW available on Mac, MS Win & Solaris

History – Third Decade (1996-now) • Entered Motion Control and Machine Vision markets • PXI is born in 1997 • LabVIEW Real-time launches in 1999 • Measurement Studio launches in 2000 • Hungarian Plant opens in 2002 • Big Year in 2003 • LabVIEW for FPGA, PDA, DSP • Acquisition of MatrixX • Released many modular instruments for PXI • Acquisition of Electronics Workbench • LabVIEW turned 20 & CVI turned 19 in 2006
