  2. STEP 1. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHOOSE A TOPIC WHICH INTERESTS YOU! Here are a few different speech topics: • “Plastic bottles should be banned!” • “Australians should find out the real facts about Asylum Seekers!” • “Illegal downloads of music and film websites should be illegal!” • “Public parks should include orchards, chicken coops and edible gardens”

  3. Now… you come-up with 3 topics which interest you – which you could talk about. • “Good manners are still important in the 21st Century!” • “_______________________________________________________________” • “________________________________________________________________” • “School canteens should ban processed and “frozen” pre-prepared food”

  4. CHOOSE ONE TOPIC…and thenSTEP 2: come up with 3 reasons which “prove” whyyour idea is right! Example: “Plastic bottles should be banned!” • Plastic bottles take 450 years to (decompose) break-down in the environment • Plastic bottles can clog-up storm water drains and cause flooding. Animals can also be trapped in broken plastic bottles. • The manufacturing of plastic bottles causes global-warming pollution

Each asylum seeker should be shown respect. • If more Australians knew the true facts about refugees, then maybe we could find a good solution to the problems of re-settling the Asylum seekers.
