DSS ROSA Solar Array • SSL is the world leading manufacturer of high-powered GEO satellites • Our largest current-technology rigid solar arrays produce 29 kW at 100V at BOL using state-of-practice photovoltaic technology • Using such solar arrays could support a scaled-down but still very capable asteroid redirect mission at minimal technical risk • For the full-scale Asteroid Redirect Mission, we can offer 50 kW BOL of spacecraft solar array power using Deployable Space Systems’s (DSS) flexible Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) • SSL is working with DSS to develop the Roll-Out Solar Arrays (ROSA) under two separate NASA efforts • Design and configure up to 50kW ROSAs (TRL 5/6) • Design and demonstrate TRL 5/6 a MegaROSA with ≥300 kW capabilities 50-kW ROSA design conceptfor NASA Asteroid Initiative Stowed Deployed
Electric Thruster Options SSL views the SPT-140, BHT-20k, and NEXT ion engine as the most capable thrusters to use for this mission
