A Brief History of Medicinal Marijuana • 1978 Robert Randall sued to United States Federal Government for not allowing him to use his marijuana to treat his glaucoma. So the food and Drug administration gave him 300 marijuana cigarettes a month. • 1992 George Bush repealed the law because Randall was trying to make the usage more open to the public • 1996 California passed the Compassionate Use Act which allowed the use of medicinal marijuana under close supervision. Since then 13 more states and the District of Columbia have followed.
How does WEEDS and Medicinal Marijuana relate? • WEEDS Takes place in the fictional town of Agrestic, California. Currently California is one of 14 states that have legalized it, for medicinal purposes. Other states include: • Alaska • Colorado • Hawaii • Maine • Michigan • Montana • Nevada • New Mexico • New Jersey • Oregon • Rhode Island • Vermont • Washington

Is there limitations on medicinal marijuana? • YES!! Some states have limitations on how much medical marijuana a person can have on their persons. • For example: • Colorado you are allowed to have 2oz usable and 6 plants • Hawaii 3 oz usable and 7 plants • Michigan 2.5 oz and 12 plants • Washington 24 oz and 15 plants
