Teacher perspective • students learn problem solving and researching skills.  • learn by asking questions and then either researching or conducting experiments to find the answer • This is an experienced-based class so student knowledge is obtained through research and activities which gives them great resources to think about, speak about, and learn from • lab based and students are given multiple opportunities to work with lab equipment and refine their lab techniques

Feed back from a former student • I'm shooting you this email to just say thank you for all the opportunities you gave us through the Project Lead the Way program • you can tell your current students that the PLTW classes are SO worth it. • I start working in the lab and it's no big deal now because that was my life for four years. And I'm not worried about the fact that I'll have to be designing some of the experiments because we did plenty of designing of experiments in our classes.

Future Demand PLTW students • It’s projected that by 2018, there will be 1.4 million computing and tech jobs in the United States and if current trends continue, we’ll only be graduating roughly 400,000 individuals who qualify for those jobs.  • Biomedical Engineering - The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the field will see a 62 percent growth in jobs between 2010 and 2020. • Engineers and related professions are expected to generate 522,000 total job openings by 2018: 187,000 net new jobs and 335,000 replacement openings.
