  8. Pectoral Girdle Muscles • Serratus Anterior: • Shape: broad curved muscle; narrow strips • Location: side of the chest; extends along the ribs to the scapula • Action: pulls the scapula downward; used when pushing something

  9. Pectoral Girdle Muscles • Pectoralis Minor: • Shape: thin, flat muscle • Location: extends laterally & upward from the ribs to the scapula • Action: pulls the scapula forward/ downward & raises ribs during inhalation
