    2. Disclaimer From the limited information I have gathered about the HSPE, the writing HSPE and the writing WASL are supposed to be exactly the same. However, some changes may apply.

    3. Two Types Expository: explaining or demonstrating your understanding of a topic. Persuasive: persuading the reader of a position or opinion you have on a topic.

    4. Four Key Questions for All Writing What is the topic? What should the form of the answer be? -Letter? –Memo? –Essay? Etc. 3. What is the purpose of the writing? -Expository? Persuasive? 4. Who is the audience I am writing to?

    5. Strategy #1: Create a Checklist is important. Read the following prompt. Can you identify the topic, form, purpose, and audience?
