Parent Walk Up • Students are to walk in a line behind the teacher on duty to the brick wall and sit with back to wall. • Please do not take students when they are walking in line. • Please wait until they are seated. • Let teacher on duty know when you are taking your child. • Please avoid walking on the stepping stones around the newly planted landscaping.
Changing Afternoon Transportation • Please send a note in your child’s blue Daily Folder if they are going home a different way or any dismissal changes. • Emails and phone messages may not reach us in time and are not accessible to substitute teachers.

1st Grade Expectations -Read Daily at Home -Responsible for homework and materials to school when necessary -Personal Best at all times -Write simple stories on lined paper using correct letter formation

-Look at the picture. -Look at the first letter of the word. (What sound does it start with?) -Look for familiar ‘chunks’. -Use the other words in the sentence to help with the word’s meaning. -Does it sound right? -Does it make sense? -Try and read the sentence again. Reading Strategies

MIDI for Kids Piano Lessons • Mrs. Caffey will be offering after-school group piano lessons through MIDI for KIDS. If you would like more information please go to Room B148 (across from the cafeteria) after your session. Thank You!
Behavior/Expectations • Based on Round Rock ISD, Teravista Elementary School, and Grade Level Behavior Expectations • Review: Rules and Consequences/Chart in the Blue Daily Folder • Goal: Self-regulated behavior • Students Expected in Room by 7:45 am
Lunch Time • If you are going to eat a cafeteria lunch with your child, please let me know so I can pre-order a lunch for you. Lunch orders are due at 8:00 am. • Lunch Prices • Student - $2.05 • Adult - $3.00 • Milk - $.50
Library TimesMrs. Uselman & Mrs. Copeland • Students will be visiting the library regularly. Students are allowed to check out a new book daily, when time permits. • Students can go to the library before school from 7:25-7:40 or after school from 2:50-3:00 daily. • Students may check out two books at a time. • Books are checked out for a two week period. • If a student has an overdue book(s), they will not be allowed to check out any others until the overdue book(s) are returned or paid for. • Parents are welcome to apply for a library card and check out books. • Students are asked to keep library books in a 2 gallon or 2.5 gallon Ziploc bag. PLEASE DONATE!!!
Book Orders • Book orders will come home in your child’s folder. They will come regularly. • There may be 2 to 3 different order forms – companies/levels. • Please pay by check and make them out to the individual companies, not your Classroom Teacher. We cannot accept cash. • Please check out our teacher WebPages for online book ordering with your credit card.
Other Stuff • Reading Logs • Birthdays – Contact the teacher at least 2 days prior to the day you plan to attend and plan to arrive at 2:15. If you arrive later, we will have to send it home with the students because of dismissal times and procedures. • Jacket or Sweater & Extra Clothes • Teacher Webpage • Wish Lists • School Store – The Jungle Please label your child’s money and place in a separate plastic baggie from their lunch money. • Volunteers / Homeroom Mom • **Driver’s License numbers on all checks
ENEWS • Sign up for ENEWS on the laptops after this session. • This is a communication system to keep you up-to-date on the latest district and/or TvE news like inclement weather dismissals, special events, and school delays or cancelations.
Background Checks • All who are interested in volunteering this school year will need to complete an annual background check. • Volunteering includes: • Watch DOG dads • Field Trips • Reading in classroom • Volunteering in the classroom or Pro-center
