  1. Courage: Where do we find it?

For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Deuteronomy 31:6-8 “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

  4. Definition of Courage Brave, Bold, Alert, Firm, Secure Courage isn’t a description of how we feel, but a description of what we do.

  5. 1 Samuel 16:18 One of the servants said to Saul, “One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that - he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the Lord is with him.”

  7. Joshua 1:9 …For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Deuteronomy 31:6-8 “…for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.””

  8. Matthew 28:19 - 20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

  10. 1 John 1:9 – 2:2 “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin.

  11. 1 John 1:9 – 2:2 “But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins - and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.”

  12. Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions.”

  14. 2 Corinthians 3:8-9 Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God! Psalm 31:24 So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!

We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.

  19. 1 John 4:4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
