  1. Present Progressive The Present Progressive describes what is happening right now. It is a two part tense consisting of: the verb estar (to be) and the gerund.

  3. The Gerund In English, the gerund ends in -ing. For example: swimming, drinking and writing. For an –ar verb drop the –ar and add –ando. nad ar ando For an –er/-ir verb drop the –er/-ir and add –iendo. beb er iendo escrib ir iendo

  5. Práctica • She is skateboarding. • You (guys) are living well. • Jorge y Alma are dancing the Tango. • You are learning to ski. • I am studying. • Roberto and I are sharing pork rinds. Ella está andando en patineta. Uds. están viviendo bien. Jorge y Alma están bailando el Tango. Tú estás aprendiendo a esquiar. Yo estoy estudiando. Roberto y yo estamos compartiendo chicharrones.

  6. Más Práctica Está sacando (tomando) fotos. Está tomando el sol. Está vendiendo agua. Está jugando al fútbol. Está corriendo. Está escribiendo.

  7. Write as many sentences as you can using the Present Progressive tense. • Está nadando. • Están bailando. • Están jugando al voleibol. • Está comiendo. • Está viajando. • Está mirando el libro. • Está tomando el sol. • Están pasando un rato. • Están disfrutando con amigos. • Están escuchando música.
