Intention of the Sustainability CheckOThere are lots of sustainable tourism projects (at least by name)O and many funds, which depend on this requirement, O but no unique standard for the sustainability of these projects. There is a need to develop a testing tool for the sustainability of tourism projects which can be used by supporting bodies. Expected benefit: More really sustainable tourism projects
Development of the check toolThe Check list was developed by the agora Sustainability Check Advisory Board:o Baltic Chamber of Commerce Association (BCCA), Michael Zeinert, Björn Ipsen oCoaliton Clean Baltic (CCB), Jörg SchmiedeloSocial Hansa, Marion WoitschikoFriends of the Earth Germany (BUND), Ulrich Söffker… and commented by several agora partner

Intention of the field testO make sure that the Check is practicable and applicableO a "dummy call" for us to learn whether the test works out or notO no financial consequences for your project Don´t be shy or polite! We need your honest feed back! Expected outcome: An optimised check tool ready for a wide use
Field test procedure (1) You have got the test version of the sustainability check two weeks ago You fill in the check list directly in the word file and answer the questions in way that is convincing from your point of view Keep it short and simple. Instead of writing long essays, you are welcome to refer to already existing documents! Just attach them. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us or ask us now
Field test procedure (2) Check should be completed and send to N.I.T. by October, 31. Feedback from N.I.T. within two weeks after sending us the Check (latest date: November, 1th). If rework is needed, this has to be done until December, 10 th. Finally, we ask you to give us your opinion on the check tool. Please also note, how long it took you to fill in the check list. Based on your feed back and experiences the Sustainability Check Advisory Board assisted by N.I.T. will conclude the final version of the check tool
