  1. SUPER HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE MANHOLE FRAMES AND COVERSBY EVCORP ® ©2000 EVANGINEERING CORPORATION. All rights reserved Covered by patent rights issued and/or pending

  2. Designed By A Highway/Municipal Engineer For Use In All New And Rehabilitation Highway And Municipal Projects Evcorp’s Super HSC frames and covers are Advanced in design and material Engineered for safety Extremely tough and durable Inert and have excellent chemical characteristics Attractive in appearance Low priced

  3. Structural (AASHTO M 306-89) 1. Proof load of 40,000 lb concentrated on a 9-by-9 inch contact area placed on the cover for a period of 1 minute, no visible sign of cracks or permanent deformation ( U.S. Federal Specification RR-F-621E) 2. Minimum 25,000lb transverse proof load , when used under traffic loads, no evidence of cracks or permanent deformation 3. Safety factor 2.5 , impact factor of 1.3, fatigue life: infinite under normal service loads 4. Ultimate design criteria: 52 kips (230 kN) for 1 minute, no cracks or permanent deformation Design Specifications:

  4. Material Specifications: Steel Reinforcing steel: 400mpa yield strength Steel fibers: 600mpa yield strength High Strength Concrete Compressive strength: 205 mpa Deicing salt scaling resistance: 5 grams per square meter Resistance to chloride ion penetration: 6 coulombs Freeze thaw resistance: excellent Scaling resistance: 0.03kg per square meter .

  5. Both the frame and cover are cast in the patented new super high strength concrete (HSC) for super strength Full steel fiber reinforcing throughout the cover and frame Additional steel bar reinforcing used in the cover Locking keyway between the cover and frame, preventing cover rotation Available in various sizes to ensure direct fit and replacement of State, Provincial, or Municipal sized iron covers in existing iron frames Features

  6. Features Cover design incorporates minimal openings ensuring little storm water infiltration Precision caste in a smooth finish Full depth cover for strength development Uniform circular base for ease of installation Minimal base taper for ease of road material compaction

  7. HSC Benefits Using Super HSC, results in a lower initial purchase price. HSC design advantages include high durability, superior strength, resistance to cracking and abrasion, excellent freeze thaw characteristics, excellent scaling resistance, high chloride ion permeability resistance, high ductility, and elimination of rust and corrosion. Since traction on HSC is nearly identical to that of the surrounding pavement, the use of HSC greatly improves traffic and pedestrian safety in wet conditions by providing a consistent friction factor

  8. The Frame The frame is circular by design and it’s exterior wall is only slightly tapered. This helps to evenly distribute traffic load to the surrounding upper road material and decrease loading on the manhole cone. The reduced loading on the cone increases it’s service life. The frame’s “key”, prevents cover rotation when installed together as a unit. The base design also works with the freeze thaw cycle. The reduced taper provides a “liftable” surface for the frost. It’s designed to move upwards with the road during frost heave and downwards with the road during the spring thaw

  9. The Cover The cover design incorporates only two holes whereby decreasing unwanted storm water infiltration. Super HSC has a higher friction factor and therefore better traction than iron. This eliminated the need for raised surfaces on the cover. The result is a smooth non-slippery cover. The increased traction on the cover reduces the chance of accidents for light vehicles such as motorcycles and bicycles. Pedestrian safety is also greatly increased by eliminating the chance of tripping on cover “squares” or slipping on a cover in wet weather

  10. The Full Assembly The full assembly provides a safer, more durable, and cost-effective alternative to iron. The precision casting of the product ensures a smooth attractive finish. These benefits are offered exclusively by the Evcorp Super HSC Manhole Frame and Cover®
