The Girl From Weeds • Description: • Woman from Weeds • No Name • Wore a Red Dress • Quote: George “…he seen this girl in a red dress” (p.45). • This fits with the character because she was wearing a red dress. • Relation: • Lennie: Wanted to feel her dress, but held on because he was scared • Quote: George “She jerks back and you hold on like It was a mouse” (p. 12). • This shows why Lennie and George are on the run
Background: • Lennie wanted to feel her dress, but got scared when he wouldn’t let go. • Quote: George “Just wanted to feel that girl’s dress—just wanted to pet it like it was a mouse” (p.12). • This shows why Lennie wanted to touch her dress and why the woman was introduced in the first place. • The girl tells the law that she was raped. • Quote: George “tells the law she been raped” (p.46). • This shows her background and possibly what kinds of person she is. She lied to the law. • Quote: George “They guys in Weed start a party out to lynch Lennie” (p.46). • This shows what happened because of her lie.
