  2. The Holy Spirit bears the marks and characteristics of deity. • The Holy Spirit also bears the marks and characteristics of an individual. The Holy Spirit is a member of the Godhead

  3. Reveals gospel to man -1 Cor. 2:10-12 • Causes us to be born again -Titus 3:5 • Dwells within us -Rom. 8:9 • Bears witness that we are children of God -Rom. 8:16 • Leads us -Matt. Rom. 8:1, 14 • Makes intercession for us - Rom. 8:26-27 The Holy Spirit plays a role in our sanctification.

  6. How does one blaspheme the Holy Spirit? Matthew 12:22-32 • vs. 22-24 – the enemies of Jesus could not deny His miracle, so they credited it as the working of Satan.

  7. How does one blaspheme the Holy Spirit? Matthew 12:22-32 • vs. 25-27 – Jesus showed the absurdity of the charge. • No man can work against himself and expect his work to stand. • Their own people cast out demons and know that they are not cast out by Satan.

This could be forgiven. • But if they did the same thing to the Holy Spirit, who was to come, they could not be forgiven.
