Strengths • Natural: • Fertile soil, abundant rain; bamboo, rubber, tea, horticultural products • Hydrocarbon deposits • International border • Pro-poor polity, responsive administration, good fiscal management • Vibrant PRIs, ADC • Human development: • high literacy • Gender equity • Egalitarian society • High level of skills in handlooms, handicrafts
Weaknesses • Remote location • Topography: 27% area cultivable as compared to 43% for the country • Militancy, trans-border problems
