Support available from EnergizePrimary PE & School Sport Premium Our aim is to support Primary Schools to maximise the impact of the funding. • One to one support (or cluster work); • Self-review tool to help schools assess their strengths and priorities; • Guide to highlight the offers/opportunities available through the National Governing Bodies of Sport; • Database of local coaching providers, including a minimum coaching standards guide to clearly highlight what to look for when employing a coach; • The development of a needs led PE and School Sport CPD Programme; • An eBulletin to provide the latest PE and School Sport news/opportunities. CPD Opportunities • Swimming Course • Tuesday 11th November: ASA National Curriculum Training for School Swimming Teaching (Module 1) • Tuesday 18th November: ASA National Curriculum Training for School Swimming Teaching (Module 2) We are currently looking into quality assurance of course tutors specifically for the following: • Gymnastics Course • Dance Course

Olympic & Paralympic Champions Alison Williamson MBE (six times Olympic Archer) Nick Beighton (Paralympic Rower) Danielle Brown (Double Gold Paralympic Archer) • Our Champions can visit your school and offer presentations, lessons, guided activities and more. Arrangements and activities are tailored to your individual requirement. The individual visits will be charged at £80 per half day visit and £140 for a full day visit. ‘Cluster’ visits with a minimum of 3 full days will be charged at £120/day and additional half days thereafter at a further £70 each.

Other support/resources British Heart Foundation: • Active Schools This free resource has sections on how to involve all staff and get commitment from head teachers and governors, how to make cross-curricular links, how to implement activity breaks and make community links for pathways into sports clubs. There is further guidance on how to develop a physical activity policy, encouraging active break-times, involving parents/carers and much more! http://www.bhfactive.org.uk/resources-and-publications-item/39/74/index.html • The Active Club Pack The Active Club pack has been updated to provide those delivering physical activities to children and young people with simple, straightforward advice and over 100 practical activity ideas for helping children and young people become more active. Previously only accessible with training, this resource is now available to anyone working directly with children and young people, for example, teaching assistants, sports coaches, playworkers and volunteers. Sainsbury’s School Games • 2014 Level 3 Summer School Games (took place on 2nd July 2014) • 579 competitors from 47 Primary Schools • 11 events including 2 for SEND students A brief highlight video can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmD1lMASfKo • 2015 Level 3 Winter School Games (will take place on 3rd March 2015) • There will be 10 events including 2 for SEND students and also an IZB satellite tournament. If your school is not signed up to the School Games and would like to be involved please contact Harry Cade who can provide you with details of the School Games Organiser for your area.
