  4. Types of Weather There are many types of weather. Sunny Snowy Rainy Windy Cloudy What kind of weather are you havingtoday? 4

  5. Precipitation What is precipitation? Precipitation is water that falls from clouds. This water may fall as: Snow Sleet Rain Drizzle Hail 5

  6. Weather and the Sun All of our weather comes from the sun. 6

  7. Meteorologists Meteorologists are people who study the weather.They use many special tools, or instruments to help them: Wind Socks Rain Gauges Anemometers Thermometers Barometers 7

  8. Thermometers Measure air temperature Rain Gauges Measure rainfall Anemometers Measure wind speed Barometers Measure how high or low the air pressure is Wind SocksMeasure wind direction 8
