Illegal Dump Survey Program The goal of the program is to better quantify the extent of the problem so we can begin addressing it through: Public policy Resource allocation Education Cleanup Enforcement Beautification and deterrents
Survey Findings 4,159 dumpsites with an estimated 14,500 tons of trash 78% of sites considered active 29% in or within 50’ of a waterway 15% of the sites contain 71% of the trash Lover’s Leap, Fayette County

What would it take to meet our mission? • Access to convenient and affordable trash disposal and recycling options for every resident in the Commonwealth. • Comprehensive environmental education in our schools addressing the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources. • Common message that inspires every citizen to protect our natural and built environments and to consume wisely and dispose of waste properly.
PA CleanWays Board Resolution We commit to building a new organization. • We are willing to merge- to let go of our separate organizational identities. • We commit to work with any or all three other groups to do this. • We will work to secure funding At a point of complete design, including governance, we must formerly ratify and execute implementing documents.
